TALLAHASSEE – The Charlie Crist for U.S. Senate today released Governor Crist’s well wishes to those observing the Passover holiday as of sundown tonight.  His statement was first released from his official office.

“As Jewish families in Florida and around the world gather to observe Passover and celebrate freedom, liberty and hope, it is a time to reflect on God’s gifts to every man and woman. This eight-day observance commemorates the children of Israel’s liberation from slavery in Egypt and marks the beginning of their journey to the Promised Land.

“Passover is an opportunity for Jewish families and friends to remember God’s mercy, love and deliverance from the bonds of slavery.  Over the next eight days, let us also continue to remember and honor the sacrifices made by our brave servicemen and women protecting our freedoms abroad and pray for their safe return home.

“As the Passover holiday begins, Carole and I send best wishes and warm greetings to all Floridians of the Jewish faith who will begin observing this sacred tradition today at sundown.”
