Scott Maddox for Agriculture Commissioner: Let 30 Years of Classroom Experience Have a Say
I am doubly blessed.
I am both the son and husband of two of Florida’s very best public school teachers. They know, first-hand, the challenges and the opportunities we face in Florida’s public schools. My mother Claire, and my wife Sha, know, better than anyone, why Senate Bill 6 will be a disaster for the future of public education in our state.
Here, in their words, are just a few reasons everyone needs to call 850-488-7146 AND email charlie.crist@myflorida.com to urge Governor Crist to veto SB 6.
When we walk in…
When we walk into our classrooms, we are met with the faces of Florida’s children…some happy and some sad; some ready to learn and some barely awake; some are eager to get started and some too eager to get out.
But they are the faces of our future and they are the faces we love.
When we walk in, we are ready to help them learn and we are ready to help them become all they can become.
When we walk in, we know that you are behind us. We know that you support us in our quest to help ALL of these children – not just a few – to meet the challenges of a changing world.
And we know you care more about their future rather than political retribution, or scoring points with your political base.
Please call and email Governor Crist today and let him know that SB 6 will punish all teachers – even the good ones – and will not improve our public schools.
Please tell him that you oppose the plan to take money out of our schools and mandate how it’s spent.
Please ask him to stand up for our kids, and for those who walk in – every day – ready to make a difference in their lives.
Sincerely,
Claire & Sha
