TALLAHASSEE – “I strongly applaud Governor Crist for taking a stand in support of Florida’s children and teachers by vetoing Senate Bill 6.   Reforming the education system in Florida should be a bipartisan effort to act in the best interests of our most precious resource—our children.  Change should not involve shoving unproven, controversial and damaging ideas through the legislative process.  Meaningful and productive reform must involve input from  teachers, parents and education professionals.  I thank Governor Crist for recognizing that our students and teachers deserve more than the callous, demoralizing and misguided reforms that SB 6 proposed.”
