Incoming ABA President Stephen Zack Receives the Distinguished John F. Cosgrove Founders Award

~ Zack, the first Hispanic-American president-elect of the American Bar Association, received the award during Miami-Dade Days ~

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – American Bar Association president-elect Stephen Zack was honored with the John F. Cosgrove Founders Award during the Miami-Dade County Days on Thursday, April 22. Zack grew up in Cuba and is the first Hispanic-American president-elect of the American Bar Association in its 130-year history.

The John F. Cosgrove Founders Award was established in honor of John Cosgrove, a dear colleague and friend of Zack’s, who passed away in April of 2006. Cosgrove served as a Florida Representative for 17 years, during which his love for the community touched many lives throughout Miami-Dade County. Cosgrove also was the founder of Miami-Dade County Days in Tallahassee more than 22 years ago.

Fred Leonhardt, of Gray Robinson Law Firm presented the award to Zack during the annual awards luncheon on Thursday, April 22nd at Kleman Plaza. The John F. Cosgrove Award is one of the first awards presented. The Miami-Dade County Days is the largest two-day event in Tallahassee, showcasing the county’s diverse community.
