West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Jeff Greene, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement regarding passage of the bill extending unemployment benefits from the Senate to the House:

Said Greene,

“American workers who have been out of work for longer than six months can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to the leadership of President Obama and the Senate Democrats.

“While the extension of benefits will bring $3 billion into the economy, Republican obstructionism prevented Democratic Senators from providing additional aid to state governments.

“As Senator, I will work tirelessly to create the jobs that will bring permanent relief to those who need it most. I will go to Washington to protect the middle class and take on Wall Street, while avoiding the corrupting influence of special interest money.”
