TALLAHASSEE – Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp announced today his campaign for Florida Attorney General has raised a total of $1.1 million and he continues to outpace his other Republican opponents in fundraising. The total includes state matching funds, which all candidates for Attorney General are accepting this election cycle, as well as all direct and in-kind contributions to the campaign.
For the second quarter of 2010, the Kottkamp Campaign had total direct and in-kind contributions of $214,000 bringing the total contributions raised to $884,000. Upon receiving state matching funds today, the Kottkamp Campaign has raised total contributions of $1,144,000 – becoming the first Republican Attorney General candidate to surpass the $1 million mark.
“With only one month to go before the August 24 Republican Primary, and many Primary voters already casting votes, the campaign is surging to the finish line,” said Lt. Governor Kottkamp. “I’m thankful to Floridians who have contributed to my campaign and because of their support we’ll be able to communicate effectively with Republican voters all across the state.”
Jeff Kottkamp was the first candidate for Attorney General to run television commercials throughout Florida. Those ads will continue until Election Day. The campaign has also made a concerted effort to communicate with voters casting absentee ballots.
Kottkamp’s broad and extensive legal experience and record of public service has set him apart in the Republican field for Attorney General. Lt. Governor Kottkamp is the only candidate with an active A+ rating from the National Rife Association. In addition, he is endorsed by 21 of 28 Republican Sheriffs, the Police Benevolent Association, Fraternal Order of Police, Florida Right to Life PAC, and is supported by more Republican members of Congress, state legislators and locally elected officials than any other GOP candidate.
