Jeff Greene For U.S. Senate: Kendrick Meek To Kick Off “The Crooked Express” Bus Tour

July 28, 2010 Politics No Comments

West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Jeff Greene spokesman Luis Vizcaino issued the following statement on Kendrick Meek’s planned bus tour that should be called: “The Crooked Express.”

Said Vizcaino:

“The Crooked Express driven by big oil, Medicare suppliers, tobacco and Wall Street should drive straight north to the Congressional Ethics Committee so he can finally come clean about his role in the Dennis Stackhouse corruption scandal.”

During The Crooked Express bus tour, Kendrick Meek will discuss how:

He sought millions of dollars in earmarks for indicted developer Dennis Stackhouse, who paid Meek’s mother $90,000 and gave her a Cadillac Escalade.

While in the state legislature, he was a paid lobbyist for Wackenhut Corp, a prison contractor that did business with the state.

He opposed reducing Medicare costs while receiving more than $40,000 from Medicare suppliers.

He encouraged people to take-on risky subprime home loans while taking over $50,000 in contributions from companies and organizations connected to the subprime lending crisis including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

He voted for offshore oil drilling while taking more than $20,000 from big oil, including BP.

He has voted to give himself several pay raises while 650,000 Floridians are unemployed.

He helped a cigar maker lobby to block higher cigar taxes to finance children’s health care while receiving thousands from the tobacco industry.
