Statement By Jeff Greene Regarding Senate Delay Of Oil Drilling Legislation

West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Jeff Greene, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement regarding the Senate delaying federal action on oil drilling legislation:

Said Greene,

“BP must be held accountable for the environmental disaster they created. I was disappointed to learn the Senate has delayed action on legislation that could help accomplish that very goal. I am hopeful the Senate will act on the bill in September, but the fact that it is still not completed is just more evidence it is time for new leadership for Florida in Washington. Florida needs someone who will work for their interests, not the special interests of big oil. I won’t take a penny of special interest money and will only be beholden to the people of Florida, unlike my opponent Kendrick Meek who is in the pocket of special interests and took money from big oil including BP.”
