Jeff Greene for U.S. Senate: Jeff Greene Leads Kendrick Meek in New Poll by Major FL News Organizations

Greene 35, Meek 31 In Newest Primary Poll

West Palm Beach, FL – Today, Jeff Greene, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, issued the following statement regarding today’s St. Petersburg Times/Miami Herald/Bay News 9/Central Florida News 13 poll that shows successful Democrat outsider Jeff Greene continuing to lead do-nothing career politician Kendrick Meek in the race for the Democratic nomination. Greene maintains an advantage over Meek (35 -31) and leads by eight points when voters asked which direction they are leaning towards, and he is poised to become the Democratic nominee in next week’s primary election.

The poll also found that undecided voters lean towards Greene, increasing his lead by eight percentage points.

Said Greene,

“Floridians are looking for an outsider to shake up Washington and get results. As we begin the final week of the campaign, I will continue to travel up and down the state, because I see this election as a job interview and I want to go to Washington to work for the people of Florida. Unlike my opponent, who works for his campaign contributors, I won’t take a penny of special interest money. I won’t have any debts to lobbyists, and I’ll put the people of Florida first.

“I’m humbled by the support and it’s clear that the Sunshine State has embraced my candidacy, and the smear attacks made by career politician Kendrick Meek have fallen flat.”

What set Greene apart in the poll is that the self-made real estate billionaire is viewed as better understanding Florida’s economy and how to fix it. [St. Petersburg Times, 08/15/10]
