Pam Bondi for Attorney General: Pam Bondi Wins Clearwater Hob Nob Straw Poll in a Landslide
Bondi consultant describes the significant advantage of Bondi’s geographic home base in Tampa Bay.
CLEARWATER, Fla. — Today, the Pam Bondi campaign announced another victory in a straw poll, this time at the Hob Nob with Candidates at Politics in the Park, hosted by the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce last night. Hundreds turned out for the event and cast their ballots for both local and statewide candidates.
“Pam Bondi won again and it was by a mile,” said general consultant Brett Doster. “Bondi got as many votes as the rest of the field combined. She is very strong in her home region of Tampa Bay, which represents a much larger population base than the home regions of either of her primary opponents. The data are showing that that geographic advantage will be significant in the election on August 24.”
Hob Nob with Candidates at Politics in the Park Straw Poll Results (August 12)
290 attendees who voted
Pam Bondi (REP) – 144 (50%)
Dan Gelber (DEM) – 53 (18%)
Jeff Kottkamp (REP) – 38 (13%)
Holly Benson (REP) – 27 (9%)
Dave Aronberg (DEM) – 24 (8%)
Jim Lewis (NPA) – 4 (1%)
Bondi also won the Tri-County Tea Party Florida Straw Poll held in Ocala on Wednesday. Bondi’s scheduling commitments prevented her from attending the Tea Party Straw Poll, though her opponent Jeff Kottkamp did attend and speak to the audience. Bondi still won in a lopsided result.
Straw polls are not binding but are an indication of how party activists will vote and organize their grassroots operations, which are especially important in primary elections.
