Loranne Ausley to Launch Petition to Fight Back Atwater and GOP Efforts to Put Tallahassee in Charge of Classrooms

Tallahassee, FL — Florida Chief Financial Officer Candidate Loranne Ausley will hold a press conference tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. in Tallahassee to respond to recent comments by Senate President Jeff Atwater consistent with his outspoken support of the ill-fated “Senate Bill 6,” a bill that would have crippled community control of public schools, disadvantaged experienced teachers, and put even more emphasis on standardized testing in our schools. Ausley, local school officials, and PTA parents will start and sign a petition to fight back against Atwater’s effort to put Tallahassee in charge of our classrooms.
