Dorworth Response To Fetterman Statement Regarding The Deepwater Horizon Workgroups’ Recommendations

LAKE MARY, FL – Representative Chris Dorworth (R-Lake Mary), lead of Deepwater Horizon Workgroup 6, issued the following response to a statement released today by Representative Adam Fetterman (D-Port St. Lucie) in which Fetterman attacks the Deepwater Horizon Work Groups’ final recommendations.

“As a member of Workgroup 6, Representative Fetterman agreed with many of the Workgroup’s recommendations and signed off on the final bipartisan decision to conduct further review of the ongoing issues concerning the Deepwater Horizon oil well blowout…that is until it was time for a press release.

“I’m disappointed that Representative Fetterman would resort to using empty election year rhetoric and playing politics with an issue that seriously impacts so many families and businesses in Florida when earlier this week he told his colleagues otherwise.”

The Deepwater Horizon Workgroups were established by Speaker of the House Larry Cretul (R-Ocala) to uncover problems and offer meaningful legislative solutions to the issues created by the Gulf oil spill.  The workgroups included both Republican and Democratic members.

By Jim Crochet, State Ombudsman To celebrate National Volunteer Week, I want to recognize the group of nearly 300 volunteer ombudsmen who give so much of their time and energy advocating for over 160,000 Floridians living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family-care homes.
