Jeff Atwater for CFO: A message for Labor Day

September 6, 2010 Politics No Comments

On this Labor Day afternoon, let us take a moment to acknowledge the effort of those who’ve worked hard to make America the international beacon of prosperity. Let us also commit ourselves to returning our state and nation to the pinnacle of economic success.

As we celebrate the commitment and dedication of the American worker, it is unfortunate that we also saw new data last week that the nation’s unemployment rate is still unacceptably high.

While liberals in Washington and Tallahassee believe that government is the solution to the worst economic struggles our nation has faced in more than a generation, I believe it is the entrepreneurial spirit of Americans that will get us back on track.

I am running to be Florida’s next Chief Financial Officer to hold government accountable to taxpayers and get government off the backs of hard working Floridians. I want to make Florida a magnet for new businesses that harness technology and create jobs. Just like every family and business, it is time that government start doing more while spending less.

All the best,

Jeff

State Ombudsman Recognizes Volunteers During National Volunteer Week

April 16, 2012

By Jim Crochet, State Ombudsman To celebrate National Volunteer Week, I want to recognize the group of nearly 300 volunteer ombudsmen who give so much of their time and energy advocating for over 160,000 Floridians living in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and adult family-care homes. Residents in long-term care facilities represent our friends and [...]
