Leon County Man Arrested for Distribution of Child Pornography

September 24, 2010 Government No Comments

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) Computer Crime Center and investigators with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office today arrested John Buckley, 59, of Leon County Fla., and charged him with 55 counts of distribution of child pornography and 12 counts of possession of child pornography.

Buckley became a suspect on August 31 during an undercover investigation by FDLE’s Computer Crime Center.  During the investigation, an FDLE agent received images displaying the sexual performance by a child on a private file sharing network from the suspect.  The agent was able to trace images that had been shared online back to Buckley’s home computer.
FDLE agents executed a search warrant at Buckley’s home, located at 9543 Woodville Highway, and located hundreds of images of child pornography.

Buckley was booked into the Leon County Jail. Additional charges are pending a complete forensic examination of all computers located in Buckley’s home

FDLE is an active member of the three Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces in Florida. There are 59 federally-funded task forces nationwide created solely to investigate Internet crimes against children that include the online sexual exploitation of children and child pornography.
