Statement by Governor Charlie Crist Regarding Christmas Day

December 23, 2010 Government No Comments

“As we celebrate the Christmas season with family and friends, we are thankful for the countless blessings God has bestowed upon us and our great state. It is a time to reflect and use every opportunity to help our fellow man.

“The holiday season is also a time to keep in our thoughts and prayers our brave servicemen and women, including those serving in the Florida National Guard. As many members of our Armed Forces are currently overseas and away from their loved ones, I join all Floridians in praying for their safe return. We are forever indebted to them, and proudly honor their bravery and sacrifice.

“The true spirit of the holy season is one ofgiving and remembering those less fortunate. Carole and I hope that all Floridians will give to those who are struggling during these challenging times. I wish all Floridians celebrating the birth of our Lord a very Merry Christmas.”
