Andrew’s Capital Grill and CapitalSoup.com Announce New Menu featuring Florida’s New Leadership Team

January 27, 2011 Government No Comments

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – As part of a time-honored tradition, Florida’s leading officials joined Andrew’s Capital Grill owner Andy Reiss today for lunch to unveil the 2011 Andrew’s Capital Grill menu, featuring the names of newly-elected leaders like Governor Rick Scott, Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam and others.

“Andrew’s Capital Grill is proud to play a role as the restaurant of choice for many of Florida’s elected leaders,” said Andrew’s Capital Grill owner Andy Reiss.  “Our elected officials are some of our most loyal customers, so it is only fitting that we honor them with a place on our menu year after year.  I join Florida’s leadership team in saying, ‘Let’s Get to Work!’”

Starting this year, Andrew’s Capital Grill partnered with CapitalSoup.com to open up its menu revamping process to the public.  Among the ideas submitted by Floridians on this year’s menu include the “Marco Cubio” Cuban Sandwich and the Adam Putnam “Fresh from Florida” Grouper Sandwich.

Among the new items on the 2011 menu are:

•    The “Great Scott” fast and healthy so you can “Get to Work” Salad Bar
•    Lt. Gov. Carroll’s “Admiral” Chicken Club
•    The “Bondi” BLT Club Salad
•    Atwater’s “St. Louis” BBQ Burger
•    The “Haridopolos Metropolis” Gorgonzola Burger
•    The “Cannon Fire” Spicy Turkey Slam

In addition to statewide and local elected leaders, the menu features items with the names of Florida State University’s star coaches and president, including the President Barron’s Hot Pastrami Sandwich, “Coach Jimbo’s” Burger, Coach Leonard’s Baked “Ham-ilton,” “Coach Sue’s” Spicy Black Bean Burger Wrap and Coach Mike Martin’s “Grand Slam” Turkey Breast.

After each election, Andrew’s renames its lunch menu’s specialty dishes in honor of newly elected Florida officials. Around the corner from the Capitol, Andrew’s Capital Grill and Bar is a Tallahassee restaurant staple and a session favorite among politicians.
