Job Creation & Economy Remain Top Issue Among Floridians
Florida Chamber of Commerce Survey Results Show
TALLAHASSEE, FL (February 9, 2011) – Floridians continue to rank job creation and the economy as their most important concern, according to results from a Florida Chamber of Commerce statewide survey.
Topping the list of priority concerns among Floridians:
· Job creation/economy – 46.07%,
· Education/schools – 11.48%,
· Health care – 9.51%, and
· Property taxes – 5.90%.
The survey of 610 Floridians was conducted January 29 through February 2 by Cherry Communications and has a 4% margin of error.
Additional survey questions and results include:
· How do you feel things in Florida are going?
o Right Direction – 35.41%
o Wrong Track – 43.61%
o Not Sure – 20.82%
· Do you favor or oppose merit pay for teachers?
o Strongly favor – 35.35%
o Somewhat favor – 24.43%
o Somewhat oppose – 10.66%
o Strongly oppose – 21.15%
o Undecided – 8.52%
· Do you favor or oppose giving Florida teacher’s tenure?
o Strongly favor – 14.43%
o Somewhat favor – 21.31%
o Somewhat oppose – 19.84%
o Strongly oppose – 36.89%
o Undecided – 6.89%
