Right Decisions for Florida’s Future

February 12, 2011 Government No Comments

Dear Friend:

This week I rolled out my “Jobs Budget” designed to reduce state spending, lower taxes and hold your government accountable. As I promised to do in my 7-7-7 plan during the campaign, this budget reduces state spending by over $5 billion while returning $2 billion directly to the taxpayers. Please take a moment to visit LetsGettoWork.net to review the detailed steps I plan to take in order to reduce taxes for Florida taxpayers, energizing the economy and helping Floridians get back to work.

Already we are seeing the how the most fiscally conservative budget in the country will open Florida up for business. My proposal to reduce corporate taxes enticed one company to select Florida as the new site of its world headquarters; read about it in the Orlando Sentinel. The move is expected to create at least 244 jobs paying an average wage of $41,655 in Florida.

I am proud to welcome new business to the best state in the nation. As Governor I am continuing to make it the best place to do business. This is only the beginning. I am talking to companies across the nation letting them know that our reduction in the business tax burden, commitment to job creation, and Florida’s world-class workforce mean we are open for business.

Let’s get to work,

Governor Rick Scott

P.S. Show your support for my budget proposal by leaving a comment on my Facebook page.
