TALLAHASSEE— A Statement from Dominic M. Calabro, President & CEO, Florida TaxWatch:

“Today’s vote by the Florida Senate to place an additional Tangible Personal Property (TPP) tax exemption on the November ballot is a major step towards relieving the tax burden on Florida’s small businesses, while also allowing flexibility for local governments to further reduce the Tangible Personal Property tax in order to attract private capital investment, and help to create and retain more jobs in Florida.

“A 2011 Florida TaxWatch task force report found that reducing TPP taxes could provide significant economic development benefits across Florida. Florida TaxWatch commends theFlorida Legislature for its work on this issue, and looks forward to educating the voters of Florida on this Amendment prior to November.”
