CFO Atwater Launches New OnDemand Library Offering Floridians 24/7 Access to Insurance and Financial Education

April 18, 2012 Government No Comments

TALLAHASSEE—Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater today launched his OnDemand Library on the Department of Financial Services’ Web page coinciding with Consumer Awareness Week, April 18—23, 2012. The library promotes self-education by allowing Floridians to watch short videos and presentations based on topics and issues addressed by the department at any time that is convenient to them.

“Consumers are so busy with the fast pace of everyday life that unless the right tools are conveniently available, they may be overlooked,” CFO Atwater said. “During Consumer Awareness Week, I want to remind Floridians of my promise to fight and protect Florida consumers—a job I take very seriously. This new OnDemand site, along with my Consumer Helpline, is just one more way Floridians can arm themselves with the knowledge they need to protect their families and businesses.”

The OnDemand videos and presentations include topics such as Identity Theft, Long-Term Care Insurance, Reverse-Mortgages and many more. Upcoming topics will range from Automobile Insurance and Workers’ Compensation to Public Assistance Fraud and much more.

This new feature is a complement to the other consumer-oriented tools and resources CFO Atwater has introduced during his tenure as Chief Financial Officer. In addition to insurance-related tools and resources, CFO Atwater has made strides to arm consumers with sound financial education tips and assistance through his Your Money Matter$ and On Guard for Seniors websites and initiatives.

To access the new OnDemand feature, visit the department’s Division of Consumer Services website at www.MyFloridaCFO.com, or go to the Your Money Matter$ website at www.MyFloridaCFO.com/YMM.

For additional assistance, contact the Consumer Helpline at 1-877-My-FL-CFO (1-877-693-5236) or (850) 413-3089.
