Front Line Strategies Congratulates Baxley, O’Toole, Stone, and Sullivan On Winning Elections Uncontested

June 14, 2012 Government No Comments

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Brett Doster, President and C.E.O. of Front Line Strategies, issued the following statement today, congratulating four Front Line clients who will take office following their unchallenged candidacies:

“We are so proud of Representative Baxley, Representative O’Toole, Representative-Elect Stone, and Commissioner-Elect Sullivan,” said Brett Doster. “It is a testament to their values and integrity that these candidates have built consensus in their communities and are working with a unified force toward achieving shared objectives. We look forward to continuing to work with these strong conservative leaders as their public service continues.”

About the candidates:
Dennis Baxley served for 7 years in the Florida House, where he served as Speaker Pro Tempore under then Speaker Marco Rubio. A successful businessman and former Mayor of Belleview, Baxley returned to politics in 2010 and was elected to the House seat he had represented previously. This election, he was unchallenged and will represent District 23, a seat entirely within Marion County.

Marlene O’Toole returns to the State House, representing parts of Lake and Marion Counties and all of Sumter County. She returns after two terms, where she served as Chair of the Higher Education Appropriations Subcommittee. O’Toole, who retired from IBM after a longtime, successful career as an executive, has focused on eliminating waste and overlapping functions in state government.

Charlie Stone has served two terms on the Marion County Commission. He ran unchallenged for the newly drawn House District 22, which encompasses part of Marion County and all of Levy County. Stone is President and owner of Stone Petroleum Products, Inc., and has been a long time community leader, previously serving on in leadership positions with the Ocala-Marion County Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Ocala/Marion County, and the Marion County Roadbuilders Association.

Tim Sullivan, a former member of the Lake County School Board and former Mayor of Fruitland Park, was elected in 2012 without opposition to the Lake County Commission. Sullivan, a graduate of The Citadel, served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom and retired as a Brigadier General in the Florida Army National Guard.
