FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH ANNOUNCES REORGANIZED STRUCTURE
-A Statement from State Surgeon General Dr. John H. Armstrong-

“I am pleased to announce that the Department of Health has completed structural realignment in accordance with HB 1263. The Department has reorganized Divisions and Bureaus to break down silos, integrate functions and foster collaboration. It is a testament to the talent within our Department that many of the open positions from this realignment process have been filled with existing Department employees. We also welcome a new Deputy Secretary of Statewide Services to strengthen further our integration with County Health Departments. In addition, a Chief of Staff will coordinate Department-wide initiatives across Offices of Communication, Legislation and Performance Improvement. Additional steps in the coming months will align funding with the Department’s new streamlined structure. Our reorganization reflects our Department’s renewed energy in making Florida the healthy place to live, work and play.”

The Florida Department of Health’s mission is to protect and promote the health of all residents and visitors in the state through organized state and community efforts, including cooperative agreements with counties. For more information, visit the Department’s http://floridashealth.com/ website.
