FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CONGRATULATES DR. STEVEN HARRIS ON NEW POSITION WITH DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
TALLAHASSEE – Deputy Secretary for Health, Dr. Steven Harris, has accepted a position as Director of Medical Services within the Florida Department of Corrections (DOC). Dr. Harris brings more than 30 years of clinical experience in public, private and non-profit sectors to DOC. Over the years, DOC and DOH have developed a strong partnership to ensure safe health services for Florida’s correctional facilities.
“I congratulate Dr. Harris for his appointment in DOC and thank him for his service to DOH and public health in Florida,” said Dr. Armstrong. “We look forward to working with him on inter-agency initiatives relevant to public health in DOC.”
“I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with so many talented individuals at DOH, and look forward to future collaborations between our agencies,” said Dr. Harris, whose last day at DOH is August 2.
