Statement from Governor Rick Scott Regarding Appeal of Cuba-Syria Amendment

Tallahassee, Fla. – “The Department of Transportation today filed an appeal to the federal court order blocking enforcement of the recently passed Cuba-Syria Amendment (Chapter 2012-196, Laws of Florida). As I have said before, the Castro and Assad governments are undeniably repressive, and it is important that Florida taxpayers do not support dictators that suppress freedom. I firmly believe this law is right for Florida and will continue to defend it going forward.”
