Bradenton woman arrested for grand theft

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Sarasota Field Office, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the 12th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office and the Florida Attorney General’s Office yesterday arrested Martha A. Kutz, 59, of Bradenton, Fla., for one count of grand theft in excess of $100,000, a first-degree felony.
Kutz, was a long-term employee of C&D Fruit and Vegetable in Bradenton, Fla. and used her position with the company to embezzle hundreds of thousands of dollars. Agents were able to determine and actual loss of $549,468.43. The alleged thefts, which provided the probable cause for this case, started approximately five years ago.
Kutz was booked into the Manatee County Jail, and the case is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office of Statewide Prosecution. Her bond was set at $100,000.
