*WELDON; “MACK, IV CAN’T BEAT BILL”*

Orlando, FL – “It’s a shame my opponent chooses not to campaign,” says Dave Weldon, “especially in the face of growing support. I think it is getting hard for Connie Mack, IV to ignore that support. It’s a shame for all of the people of Florida that Connie Mack, IV can’t beat Bill Nelson, especially in the face of the attacks coming out against Connie pointing out Mack’s less-than-admirable life. Unfortunately, most of what is being said is accurate.”

Weldon was referring to attack ads Nelson has been running that point out Mack’s poor voting record, his troubled personal life, etc. Weldon also took issue with Mack’s refusal to appear at many public events. “It shows his disregard for Florida voters,” charged Weldon. “If he thinks he is the better debater, the better candidate, why won’t he let voters see that? This is not the kind of man we want representing us in the U.S. Senate. Most of those ‘big names’ who have endorsed Mack did so before I got in the race. In the clarity of retrospect, I know some are questioning their decisions now.”

Additionally, Weldon points out the increasing support he has received in just the past few days. “Personhood ProLife PAC has endorsed me, Heritage Alliance and several others,” said Weldon, “it’s getting hard to keep up. But more importantly, individual voters and voting groups have made it clear I am their choice for the Senate. I think we could be heading for a surprise upset.”

In their email announcing their endorsement of over 80 candidates, the Personhood group told their constituents their choices included, “7 term Congressman and candidate for US Senate, Dr Dave Weldon.”They emphasized, “Personhood FL ProLife PAC endorsed Republicans, Democrats, and NPA and third party candidates for every office from US Senator to Soil and Water Conservation and every position in-between.”

“Personhood FL ProLife PAC has today endorsed candidates who have committed to protect all innocent human life. . . These candidates have committed to protect human life from experimentation in laboratories and our seniors and the disabled when their lives are seen as expendable. I encourage prolife Florida voters to support these candidates with their votes, time, and money.”

In addition to this group, the Heritage Alliance has rated Dr. Weldon “A+”, the highest rating and the only candidate in the Senate Primary to receive anything over a “B.”

Also, the Hillsborough County Conservative Examiner endorsed Dr. Weldon and said “Republicans have a fine slate of candidates this year and this group will help bring the conservative change that is needed for the community.”

Rep Scott Plakon’s wife, Susie, sent a message of support in which she said, “I am endorsing Dr. Dave Weldon for US Senate. He is strongly pro-life, he stands for traditional marriage, supports Israel, for limited government, other conservative values and has a track record from his years in the US House to prove it! I had the chance to talk with him and pray with him yesterday. If you live in Florida, please consider casting your vote for Dave. He CAN unseat Bill Nelson! Keep the primary elections in your prayers!”

Another, early endorser of Dr. Weldon, Florida Senator Alan Hays, also sent an email to a wide group of contacts who have asked him about the Primary. Hays said he was not telling anyone who to vote for, but “Dave Weldon is my choice for the next US Senator from Florida! Dave has a proven record of votes in the US Congress that aligns with the same way I would have voted on those issues. He is a man of unquestionable integrity in his personal life and his public life. (What a novel concept, consistency in all lines of life!) Dave stands for what is right in America and we need more people with his values and integrity in the Senate. It is imperative that we stop Bill Nelson from being re-elected! Dave Weldon can stop Nelson!”

“With supporters like I have,” said Weldon, “the election is not the foregone conclusion some would have you believe. In contrast with Connie Mack’s changing numbers, support for my candidacy is consistently growing. Like a fire that is getting lit, my supporters have the fervor and passion to make this a grand upset.”
