HUTTON ONLY NORTHEAST FLORIDA LOCAL CANDIDATE PLACED ON THE FLORIDA FEDERATION OF REPUBLICAN WOMEN (FFRW) “WOMEN TO WATCH” LOCAL LIST

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Marge Hutton, Candidate for Clay County Commission, District 3, was the only candidate from Northeast Florida running for a locally elected office to be placed on the Florida Federation of Republican Women (FFRW) Women to Watch Local List. The Florida Federation of Republican Women (FFRW) was chartered in 1950 and is comprised of over 50 clubs throughout the state. FFRW is affiliated with the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW), a grassroots organization of around 100,000 women throughout the country who support Republican candidates and issues at all levels of government. All campaigns selected for Women-to-Watch were nominated by FFRW members because they have demonstrated skill, strategy and proper planning including demonstrating strong ties to the community through civic involvement in Republican clubs, women’s clubs and/or civic organizations.

In a statement issued by the Florida Federation of Republican Women, “Marge Hutton is currently a Councilwoman of Orange Park and is the Past president of the FFRW in Clay County as well as the past president of the Clay Chamber of Commerce. She was nominated by her peers as a FFRW Woman to Watch due to her campaign structure as she early on staffed her campaign with experts one might not expect to find in a council race including Kevin Doyle, former State Director for Senator Mel Martinez, Majority Strategies and a four person finance team as well as a volunteer coordinator and campaign treasurer. She has run a superior news media campaign.”

“I truly appreciate being among these strong women candidates. I have worked tirelessly to build consensus in Clay County not only in the Republican Party but throughout our county with our small and large businesses, as well as our County government. I am humbled to have my campaign recognized by the Florida Federation of Republican Women. This is a wonderful honor and I am very thankful to my team. As the past President of the Clay County Federation of Republican Women and the past Chairman of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, I look forward to working with everyone in Clay County to ensure policies that protect our quality of life, keep our taxes low and grow our economy,” said Hutton.

Hutton, a Republican is running for the District 3 seat, which is being vacated by Travis Cummings. Marge has lived in Orange Park since 1975, when she and her husband, Pat, arrived for his assignment as a Navy Flight Surgeon on the U.S.S. Saratoga. She has a long history of service to the community through her work as Chairman of the Clay County Chamber of Commerce, Clay Medical Society Alliance, and the Florida Medical Association Alliance. In addition to holding other committee leadership positions in these organizations, Hutton has contributed many hours as a volunteer working collaboratively to produce results that improve the quality of life of Clay County citizens. ###
