*WELDON; “DEMOCRAT’S GAY MARRIAGE PLATFORM PLANK UPSIDE DOWN”*

Orlando, FL – “‘Democrats are set to include a pro-gay marriage plank in their convention platform for the first time in history,’ party sources confirm to POLITICO,” Read the headline on the popular blog.

Reacting to the news, Republican Primary Senate Candidate and seven-term Member of Congress, Dr. Dave Weldon said; “I know some people might have been shocked to learn that the Democrats are redefining one of the most basic and important foundations of society; the traditional one man and one woman’ definition of marriage. Frankly, I was not surprised, we have seen the signs of liberal extremism inside that party for some time. The strength of our nation is in the traditional family unit and this attempt to redefine the institution attempts to crumble our nation’s foundation and undermine our future.”

The language of the pro-gay marriage platform statement was approved by a platform draft committee “unanimously” and awaits approval by the full platform committee later this month, according to reports.

“It’s more important than ever that Republicans show a sharp contrast to the obvious choice that the Democrats have made in their move ‘out of the closet.’” said Weldon.

“I know how loyal Bill Nelson is to his Party and his President,” said Weldon, “If we send him back to Washington with our vote in November, no doubt he will join in lockstep with his fellow Democrats to forward the cause of gay marriage. We must not let that happen.”
