Hearings for FPL Rate Request Begin Monday

TALLAHASSEE – Florida’s Public Service Commission (PSC) will conduct a hearing on Florida Power & Light Company’s (FPL) request for a rate increase beginning Monday, August 20. The hearing allows FPL and other intervenors to present sworn testimony and exhibits in support of their positions. The PSC recently conducted nine customer service hearings in FPL’s service area.

On March 19, FPL filed a petition with the PSC for a base rate increase. FPL provides electric service to more than 4.5 million retail customers in all or parts of 35 Florida counties.

The hearing is set for the following time and location:

Monday, August 20, 2012 9:30 a.m. Betty Easley Conference Center Joseph P. Cresse Hearing Room (Room 148) 4075 Esplanade Way Tallahassee, Florida

In addition, August 21-24 and August 27-31 have been reserved for the continuation of the hearing, if needed. The starting time of the next day’s session will be announced at the conclusion of each day.
