Lakeland Mayor Gow Fields Elected President of Florida League of Mayors for 2012-13
Mayors Berringer, Henderson and Randels Elected to Board of Directors

Tallahassee – Lakeland Mayor Gow Fields has been elected president of the Florida League of Mayors for the 2012-13 term. Fields, who was elected to the Lakeland City Commission in 1992, became mayor in 2010.

“I’m proud to serve as president of the Florida League of Mayors,” Fields said. “City governments are the government closest to the people. Mayors are keenly aware of the challenges our communities and state face and are uniquely positioned to help craft real solutions and effectively implement them as a full partner with the State of Florida.”

The Florida League of Mayors also elected new members to its 21-member Board of Directors, responsible for governing the organization. The new members of the Board are:

• Mayor Adam Berringer, City of New Smyrna Beach
• Mayor Randall Henderson, City of Fort Myers; and
• Mayor Rocky Randels, City of Cape Canaveral.

The Florida League of Mayors is a leadership organization developed by mayors for mayors. The Florida League of Mayors provides members with the ability to explore areas of mutual concern and opportunity. For more information, visit the Florida League of Mayors website at www.floridamayors.org.

Fields is a small-business man and owns Fields & Company, Inc.
