Nuclear Cost Recovery Hearings Set to Begin Monday

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) will conduct a hearing beginning Monday, September 10, to discuss the petitions filed by Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and Progress Energy Florida, Inc. (PEF) to recover the costs of nuclear power plant projects under the Nuclear Cost Recovery Clause. The hearing is scheduled to continue through Thursday, September 13.

During the hearing, information will be examined concerning FPL and PEF’s activities and cost of siting, licensing, and constructing enhancements to their current and new nuclear facilities. The hearing will also cover information concerning the determination of costs eligible for recovery during 2013. All parties to this Docket No. 120009-EI will have the opportunity to present testimony and other evidence on behalf of their issues.
