PORT ORANGE MAN CLAIMS $4 MILLION FLORIDA LOTTO™ JACKPOT PRIZE

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Lottery announces that Leo Galien, 50, of Port Orange, claimed the $4 million FLORIDA LOTTO™ jackpot from the drawing held on Wednesday, September 5. Galien chose to receive his winnings in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $2,902,766.85.

Galien said he intends to be smart with his winnings and invest. He adds, “we might splurge a little on the kids and grandchildren, but most of this money will stay in the bank for retirement.”

Port Orange Texaco, located at 1702 Taylor Road in Port Orange, received a bonus commission of $20,000 for selling the winning FLORIDA LOTTO Quick Pick ticket. Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated more than $3 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).

From August 29 through November 28, 2012, players who purchase a single $10 or more FLORIDA LOTTO™ or FLORIDA LOTTO with XTRA ticket will receive a voucher with a unique number that may be entered into the Fan-Tastic College Football Promotion on the Lottery’s website. Four drawings remain for each of the eight college teams, where players can win a variety of prizes including $10,000 in cash, a bowl game trip*, season tickets, an away game trip, team merchandise and more!

The next FLORIDA LOTTO drawing will be Saturday, September 8, at 11:15 p.m. ET, with a $2 million jackpot. FLORIDA LOTTO drawings are broadcast on 17 carrier stations throughout the state, and are available for viewing on the Florida Lottery website. Winning numbers are available on the Lottery website, at retailers statewide and by phone at (850) 921-PLAY.
