CORAL SPRINGS WOMAN CLAIMS $10 MILLION BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER PRIZE

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Lottery today announced that Tara Tuttle, 35, of Coral Springs, claimed a $10 million top prize in the BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. Five $10 million and 74 $1 million prizes still remain.

Tuttle says she carried around the winning ticket for more than a month before she actually scratched it and noticed she won the $10 million top prize. “I had a feeling that it was a lucky ticket but I didn’t want to find out quite yet. Now I’m just overwhelmed and so excited to buy my family a home and look into options for opening a charitable organization for those affected with cancer,” said Tuttle.

Tuttle chose the one-time, lump-sum payment option for her winnings, in the amount of $6,500,000.00. The winning ticket was purchased from Publix, located at 2201 N. University Drive in Coral Springs.

The $20 Scratch-Off game, BILLION DOLLAR BLOCKBUSTER, offers the highest cash payout of any Scratch-Off game in Lottery history. To date, the game has awarded more than $407.4 million in prizes. The overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.98.
The Florida Lottery offers approximately 60 Scratch-Off games at any given time through vending machines or counter displays at more than 13,000 retailers statewide. Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, making up approximately 58 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $495 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2011-12.
