“Got Power?” Coalition to Host Voter Registration Block Party
Local event to mark National Voter Registration Day September 25

WHAT: A coalition of organizations representing the civic, faith, student and labor communities will gather for a Tallahassee Voter Registration Block Party to mark National Voter Registration Day 2012–a day of coordinated field, technology and media efforts to promote voter registration. The Tallahassee event features a a free BBQ dinner for the public, games, music, literature and information on voting, and voter registration opportunities.

WHERE: Smith-Williams Service Center (next to the Walker-Ford Center), 2295 Pasco Street.

WHEN: 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, September 25

WHO: Organizations involved in the “Got Power” Coalition (listed in alphabetical order) are: AFL-CIO Big Bend Labor Chapter, Allpower Worldwide, Exclusive Visions, FAMU Social Work Association of Graduate Students (SWAGS), First Presbyterian Church of Tallahassee, Florida Alliance for Retired Americans (FLARA), Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, Florida Justice Association, Florida National Organization for Women (FL NOW), League of Women Voters of Florida (LWVF), Leon County Supervisor of Elections Office, Living Stones International, New Birth Tabernacle of Praise, New Life United Methodist Church, SEIU 1199, Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Tallahassee Branch of the NAACP, Tallahassee Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (TIMA) and Tallahassee Interfaith Clergy.
