Re: Help needed to find missing student
The University of Florida Police Department (UFPD) is currently assisting the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) as it investigates the disappearance of University of Florida student Christian Aguilar.
Mr. Aguilar is an 18-year-old Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and medium build. He was last seen wearing a blue/grey “hoodie” type top and either light blue or gray jeans.
The GPD, along with the UFPD, began searching for Mr. Aguilar Friday evening after he was reported missing. The GPD also deployed a helicopter, K-9 and other specialty units to assist in conducting the search of the area where Mr. Aguilar was reported to last be seen. As of Monday morning, searches have not yielded any information regarding his whereabouts.
Investigators are also searching for Mr. Aguilar’s cellphone: LG Motion, model MS770 smartphone. Anyone finding a cellphone matching that description since Thursday afternoon should report it to GPD at the number below.
GPD investigators believe Mr. Aguilar is seriously injured and/or unable to seek medical attention. Given this concern, the UFPD urges anyone who may have information regarding his whereabouts to please contact GPD’s Criminal Investigations Bureau at 352-393-7670. Anonymous tips can be phoned to 352-393-7700.
The search for Christian Aguilar remains an ongoing investigation. For the most up-to-date information, please visit the Gainesville Police Department Facebook page.
