State business leaders and lawmakers urge action on Citizens depopulation program
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Business leaders, lawmakers, industry representatives, and a consumer advocate will be hosting a media conference call, Thursday, October 4 to urge the Board of Directors of Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (Citizens) to act with all due haste in passing the Surplus Note Depopulation Program (SND Program). The Citizens Board of Governors is considering the SND Program to transfer approximately 400,000 policies from Citizens by private-market insurers.
