Polk County man arrested for travelling to meet a minor for sex
Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Tampa Bay Regional Operations Center Cyber Crimes Task Force assisted by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations arrested Carl Edward Csizmadia, 50, of Davenport, Fla., for one count of promoting sexual performance by a child, one count of traveling to meet a minor for sex, and three counts of online solicitation of a parent/guardian to have sex with a child.
The investigation began in September, after Csizmadia made contact with an FDLE agent, who was working undercover by posing as a mother with two young children. According to agents, Csizmadia made numerous online solicitations to the undercover agents to have sex with the children. Ultimately, Csizmadia drove to a restaurant in Lakeland, Fla., where he thought he was going to meet the children for sex. Csizmadia was arrested without incident with the assistance of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and the Lakeland Police Department.
Csizmadia was booked into the Polk County Jail.
