JOIN SENATOR ELLYN BOGDANOFF FOR A BICYCLE RIDE BY THE SEA
20-mile bicycle ride hopes to further raise safety awareness

District 34, Fla. — Join Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff and local bicycle enthusiasts on Saturday, October 13th, as they will ride along a portion of Senate District 34’s coastline.

Four planned stops along the way will create a unique environment to meet with voters to discuss the importance of bicycle safety and listen to their concerns about the community and Senate District 34.

The Florida Walks and Bikes Association recognized Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff as the “2012 Florida Legislative Bicycle Champion”. She sponsored and passed numerous safety measures this past legislative session that will help keep cyclists and the casual bike rider safe.

“We are looking to raise awareness within the community to make it safer for cyclists,” said Ellyn. The event is a bicycle ride, not a race, and it is for the enjoyment of all levels of bicycle riders, road racers, and beach cruisers alike.

Riders will enjoy the scenic beachfront route along Florida’s A1A, passing by pristine beaches, the intracoastal waterway, and crossing bridges that make for a beautiful ride. The bicycle ride will kick-off at El Prado Park in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. Check-in is at 6:45am and each rider will be able to rent a bicycle and helmet for $10. The 20-mile ride will consist of scenic rest stops well stocked with traditional refreshments, high-energy foods and sports drinks.

Stopping along the ride in distinctive communities like Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, and Highland Beach will give participants and attendees ‘a bicyclists view’ of our lovely communities in Senate District 34.

The ride will conclude in Delray Beach and everyone is invited for a finish line celebration at Boston’s on the Beach. Registration is underway now; please contact megan@ellynbogdanoff.com to learn more and reserve your spot on the bike ride.

“The ride will be a lot of fun with plenty time to relax at each stop. The Eastern boundary of District 34 runs along the coast so this will be a great opportunity for those who live near the coast to come out and meet Ellyn and raise awareness for bicycle safety on our roadways” stated Bogdanoff’s campaign.
