Orlando National Guard Brigade welcomes new commander

WHAT – Edgewater resident Col. Matthew Hearon takes command of the
Orlando-based 164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade from Brig. Gen. Frank
Laudano.

WHEN – October 14, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. Media should plan to arrive 30 minutes
prior to the event.

WHERE – 164th Air Defense Artillery Brigade Headquarters, 8385 Daetwyler Dr.,
Orlando, Fla.

Col. Matthew Hearon previously served as the Deputy Commander, 164th Air
Defense Artillery Brigade. He enlisted in the Army in 1980 as a military
policeman and joined the Florida National Guard, receiving his commission as
a second lieutenant in 1985. Hearon works as a law enforcement officer at
both the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Brig. Gen. Frank Laudano took command of the 164th ADA in 2009. He was
promoted to Brigadier General in 2011.
