Building Dedication Scheduled for New Health and Wellness Center

BUILDING DEDICATION SCHEDULED FOR NEW HEALTH AND WELLNESS CENTER
The new Florida State University Health and Wellness Center is set to host its dedication ceremony Oct. 25. The ceremony will feature remarks from Florida State President Eric J. Barron, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Garnett S. Stokes and Vice President for Student Affairs Mary Coburn.
Joining Coburn for a special dedication to the Student Government Association is Student Body President Reuben M. Stokes II and former Student Body President Joseph O’Shea.
The event will be followed by a health fair for faculty, staff and guests that includes health and wellness demonstrations by University Health Services, Campus Recreation and the College of Nursing, along with building tours highlighting points of interest throughout the facility.
The dedication ceremony begins:

The dedication of the Health and Wellness Center marks the beginning of a new chapter in student services at Florida State University. Under the leadership of Barron, Coburn and student government officers, construction of the new center began in 2010.
The Health and Wellness Center is a collaborative effort between University Health Services (formerly Thagard Student Health Center), Campus Recreation and the College of Nursing and is the first building on campus that combines related health and wellness services from a variety of departments.
