Governor Rick Scott Appoints Peter Meros to Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission

Tallahassee, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Peter N. Meros to the Second District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission.

Meros, 65, of St. Petersburg, has practiced with Meros, Smith, Lazzara & Olney, PA since 1972. A veteran of the United States Army, Meros earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University and his law degree from Stetson University College of Law. He has been board certified in civil trial law by the Florida Bar since 1983. Meros previously served two terms as both Chair and Vice-Chair of the Sixth Judicial Nominating Commission. He succeeds Basil Bain and is appointed for a term beginning October 24, 2012, and ending July 1, 2016.
