Attorney General Bondi’s Office Reaches Agreement with Keiser University, Everglades University and Keiser Career College

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –Attorney General Pam Bondi today announced that her
office has entered an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance with Keiser
University, Everglades University and Keiser Career College, Fort
Lauderdale-based providers of college, career and other educational
services. The agreement follows the office’s investigation of the school’s
enrollment and marketing practices.

Under the terms of the AVC, Keiser University, Everglades University and
Keiser Career College have agreed to offer retraining at no cost to
students. The AVC also establishes an expedited arbitration process for
students who have asserted claims against Keiser. Finally, the AVC includes
provisions governing Keiser’s marketing practices going forward, and
requires Keiser to reimburse the Attorney General’s Office for attorneys
costs and fees.

Students who attended their programs from January 1, 2008 to date and meet
eligibility requirements for retraining will receive notice of their
options over the next 60 days. Students have until January 31, 2013 to
submit a request to participate in the retraining.
