THE FLORIDA LOTTERY’S 25th ANNIVERSARY MILLIONAIRE SCRATCH-OFF GAME IS LIVING UP TO ITS NAME
~ More than $67 Million in Prizes Won ~

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida Lottery’s first $25 Scratch-Off game, MILLIONAIRE, has exceeded $90 million in revenue since sales began on September 25, 2012. This special 25th Anniversary Edition MILLIONAIRE ticket, reminiscent of the Lottery’s first Scratch-Off ticket, offers 25 prizes from $1 million to $5 million and the highest prize payout percentage ever in Florida Lottery history.

“While the original MILLIONAIRE ticket sold $95 million in 12 days, it was the only game being sold at the time,” said Florida Lottery Secretary Cynthia O’Connell. “The current MILLIONAIRE game is being sold alongside 56 other Scratch-Off games and has managed to bring in over $90 million in sales in a little over a month.”

The excitement surrounding MILLIONAIRE is not only the sales the game has generated but the prizes won by Florida Lottery players. In just 37 days, Lottery players have won more than $67 million in prizes, including four $1 million prizes. Additionally, the game has generated $16.9 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF).
In conjunction with the MILLIONAIRE Scratch-Off game, the Lottery is offering a 25th Anniversary MILLIONAIRE Second Chance Promotion. Players can enter non-winning tickets on the Lottery’s website for a chance to win cash prizes or a trip to the Lottery’s 25th Anniversary Celebration at which they can win up to $1 million. Thus far, more than 595,000 non-winning MILLIONAIRE Scratch-Off tickets have been entered on the Lottery’s website. The Florida Lottery offers more than 60 Scratch-Off games at any given time through vending machines and counter displays at more than 13,000 retailers statewide. Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery’s portfolio of games, making up approximately 58 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $495 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2011-12.

ABOUT THE FLORIDA LOTTERY

Since its beginning in 1988, the Florida Lottery has transferred billions of dollars to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, investing in Florida’s future leaders through school construction, K-12 classroom support and more than 600,000 Bright Futures scholarships.
