Remembering Esther

Yesterday, Governor Scott’s mother, Esther, passed away in Kansas City. Floridians from across the state – and even across the political spectrum – felt like they knew Esther, in part because of her appearance in that now-famous television ad. But many of us also got to know her in person. She was a regular on the campaign trail and had more energy than anyone could have guessed. She will be sorely missed, but I’m so glad that we got to know her.

Please keep the Governor and his family in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days. It’s been a rough year for both he and First Lady Ann Scott, as they each have lost parents this year. I know that both of them appreciate your kind words and condolences during this time.

In the past 24 hours, many of you have called or written asking where you can send cards and flowers. Memorial services will be held in Kansas City, Missouri. But you can send correspondence to Governor Scott and First Lady Ann directly to the Governor’s Mansion:
