FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO EXPAND NEWBORN SCREENING TESTING

Tallahassee – On Thursday, November 29, State Surgeon General and Secretary of Health Dr. John Armstrong will announce the latest addition to Florida’s newborn screening panel. Babies born in Florida will now be offered screening for Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) along with 35 other disorders or conditions. This expansion is the first addition to the panel since 2007 with Cystic Fibrosis.
