Study Committee on Water & Wastewater Utilities to Hold Public Meetings on December 5

TALLAHASSEE – The Study Committee on Investor-Owned Water & Wastewater Utility Systems (Committee) will hold public meetings in New Port Richey and Eustis on Wednesday, December 5.

Established by the 2012 Florida Legislature, the Committee is addressing issues of concern to investor-owned water and wastewater utility systems, particularly small systems and their customers, and researching possible solutions. The Committee is gathering information for a report required to be submitted to the Governor, the Senate President, and the Speaker of the House by February 15, 2013.

Customers of investor-owned water and/or wastewater utilities are invited to attend the meetings and speak before the Committee regarding general, non-company specific matters related to the Committee’s statutory charge.

Chaired by Florida Public Service Commissioner Julie I. Brown, the Committee includes 16 representatives from the Florida Legislature, state agencies, state and local governments, and investor-owned water utilities and their customers.

Customers are invited to attend the meetings at the following times and locations:
