STATE REGULATING AGENCY HOSTS THIRD MOBILE FOOD VENDOR FAIR IN TALLAHASSEE

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) today will host 14 mobile food vendors at its third Mobile Food Vendor Fair at DBPR headquarters in Tallahassee. The Northwood Centre is sponsoring the event, and a local radio station will provide entertainment while broadcasting live from the event.

Participating vendors include MoBi, Bahn Mi Palace, The Knawty Hawg, The Great American Sandwich Station, Street Chefs, Sir Cheezy, Fat Mac’s Café, Rock Island Rolling Café, The Turnover Café, Island Pound Hound, Tacos Gringos, Julio’s Food on the Move, Fired Up Pizza Truck and Lasang Pinoy. All vendors will provide great food for Tallahassee residents to enjoy while supporting local small businesses.
DBPR’s headquarters is in the Northwood Centre located at 1940 North Monroe Street in Tallahassee. The fair will be held from 5pm to 7pm and is free and open to the public. Food prices vary among the vendors. More information on the Mobile Food Vendor Fair can be found at: http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/FoodFair5_15_12.html.

DBPR licenses and regulates all food service establishments in the state, including mobile food vendors and hot dog carts. As one of the most rapidly growing segments of the Department’s food service licensees, mobile food vendors are a vital part of the state’s economy and have nearly doubled in the Big Bend area over the past year. In May, DBPR hosted 11 vendors and more than 400 people at its second Mobile Food Vendor Fair. The events are part of a continued effort for the Department to encourage business development, especially for small-business owners and entrepreneurs.

The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly. The Department licenses and regulates more than one million businesses and professionals ranging from hotels and restaurants, real estate agents and accountants to veterinarians, contractors and cosmetologists.
