Democratic Party Donates Over 1,000 Holiday Gifts To Children

The Palm Beach County Democratic Party recently collected over 1000 gifts in its annual toy drive. Board games, footballs and basketballs, dolls, cars, trucks and Lego sets were donated by members and friends of the Party in time for the holidays.

Almost half the gifts were collected on Dec. 12 at the Democratic Party’s annual holiday season gathering at the Airport Hilton in West Palm Beach. Several Democratic clubs collected gifts as well.

“We have a number of charitable drives throughout the year, but collecting gifts for children who might not otherwise receive any is certainly one of the most gratifying,” said Terrie Rizzo, Chair of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party.

Rizzo gave special recognition to Dave and Brenda Schumacher of West Palm Beach, who for the fifth year in a row organized the Democratic Party’s toy drive. “We owe them a great deal for their selflessness and dedication,” she said.

Organizations receiving the gifts for distribution were Toys for Tots and Children’s Medical Services.
