SENATOR HUKILL’S BILL PROMOTES JOBS, PROMOTES MANUFACTURING

Tallahassee — Senator Dorothy L. Hukill (R-Port Orange) filed Senate Bill 518 which eliminates the sales tax on the purchase of manufacturing equipment.

“We need to encourage our existing businesses to grow, expand and create jobs and encourage companies to move to Florida,” said Hukill.
Manufacturing companies in Florida employ over 300,000 Florida families and Volusia County is home to over 400 manufacturing companies. Lake County is also home to over 340 manufacturing companies. About 1,026 manufacturing companies, with over 8,000 employees call Marion County home. When passed, this bill would encourage investment in infrastructure, reduce red-tape and make Florida more competitive with other states.

“Let’s give businesses the tools needed to succeed and Florida wins,” said Hukill.
