Sen. Thompson and Rep. Berman to Announce Workplace Discrimination Legislation

TALLAHASSEE – Florida’s Civil Rights Act ensures a host of protections against workplace discrimination for a number of individuals in the Sunshine State – with the exception of moms-to-be.

Legislation that would change that, and bring Florida in line with protections under federal law is being sponsored by Senator Geraldine Thompson (D-Orlando) and Representative Lori Berman (D-Lantana). To highlight their bills, the lawmakers will hold a press conference on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Joining them will be one such victim who will share her own shocking story of workplace discrimination while pregnant.

The event will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 11:30 am, 4th floor of the Capitol, Senate side.
